Yvonne A. Jennings Obituary (1935 - 2023)

Our beloved, Yvonne Alethia Jennings, affectionately known as "Bon" was born in Richmond, Virginia on March 11, 1935 to the late Freddie Sr. and Merdis Shaw Goodwin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Jennings, Sr. and brothers: Freddie (Butch) Goodwin, Jr. and Ronald (Ronnie) Goodwin. Yvonne attended Richmond Public Schools and was employed with Jenkins Book Bindery. She carried over 70 years of membership service with Zion Baptist Church Decatur Street location. Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Deborah Jennings Jackson (Hollis) and son Anthony Jennings, sister: Grace Randolph, bonus children: Alma Jennings Christian (Carl), Charles Jennings, Jr. (Linda), Robert Lee Jennings (Sharron - deceased), Theresa Jennings, Marlena Jennings (Erving), Michael McGilvery (Sharon) and Charles Penn, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren among them devoted granddaughters Bridget Thompson and Geneva Chappell, sisters-in-law: Eartie Bea Jennings and Leslie Jennings and a host of other relatives among them a devoted niece, Anjanette Pearson and many devoted friends among them Ruth Ford, Edna Gillis and Peachie Holly. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4-6 PM at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11 AM at Maury Cemetery, 2700 Maury St. Richmond, VA 23224
